Wedding Bells

Friday, unfortunately a little wet.but the rain was not going to upset a magical day.  2:00 pm was the Council wedding.  Claudia looked beautiful in her light blue wedding dress and Werner looked very handsome in his.  At this ceremony all the family were invited to attend.  It was held in a small room with the marriage registrar undertaking the formalities of the day.  Claudia &Werner had their friends, Hunka & Yen's as their witnesses.  At the end of the ceremony Hunka's young daughter Micha presented Claudia with a lovely posie of flowers.  They were a beautiful orange colored arrangement  placed in an intake manifold  for a BMW Boxer engine! Everyone had a laugh at that.

We then went back to Werner's parents workshop where we were indulged in beautiful cakes, coffee & monsterous amounts of food.

Saturday, 10th September 2011, The Church Wedding.

Once again Claudia looked absolutely beautiful, this time she was wearing a beautiful white, elegant wedding dress.  Yes, Werner looked handsome too!!

This time family and friends were present.  Some a little late due to an 8 car pile up on the A1 Autobahn.  The ceremony went well, unfortunately we had a little trouble understanding the Priest!  Our German has improved but......definately not that much.

After the ceremony, Werner had arranged to borrow an 'outfit' (motor bike & side car).  This looked great, us and 7 or 8 other bikers followed the Newly Weds home.  Bikes tooting, lights flashing and of course the cans that were tied to the back of the bike making a loud noise driving down the hill.  Many people just stopped and stared.  It was amazing!

Once back at the 'workshop' more food was waiting for us.....I have never eaten so much food over 2 days!!!!!  Werner's aunty had made and decorated most of the cakes....The top cake had  the 2 kangaroos on it (thanks Leonie)  they were held upright in white chocolate. hmmmm, yum.

Aunty Hildegard had made many cakes from the different countries Werner & Claudia had visited, macadamia cheese cake, coconut cheese cake and bailey's cheese cake just to name a few.

Cakes cakes and more cakes

Denim and Lace. The party kicks on...

As Claudia and Werner still intend on travelling after the wedding, many of their friends were very inventive with their gifts.  They were given a cheque for  their favorite bike manufacturer, HPN so they can buy spare parts, someone had put together a little sand pit made up like a treasure hunt – with money buried throughout the sand, money folded into origami animal shapes – amazing!

The festivities actually ended after 3 days, family members were still around to indulge in coffee & cakes!!.
